Fiddlers Grove hosted Kidz Kamp on June 26 & 27, 2019, with approximately 30 kids in attendance. On the first day, they met Deputy John Hittle, SRO at Southside Elementary, who talked about safety at home, while shopping, and at school. The kids interacted with Deputy Hittle and learned a lot from his message. They saw a blacksmith at work and visited the Model Train Museum. They also learned the Pledge of Allegiance, many life skills such as how to sort laundry, plant a seed, set a table and much more, and took two of the many crafts offered. Among the crafts were Sewing, Wood Burning, Tin Punch, Beginner Guitar, Making Decorated Picture Frame, Making a Rag Flag, Making a Gnome Ornament, Making String Doll, and Basket Making. They were fed snacks in the morning and afternoon as well as lunch. The total cost is $35.
The July 10 & 11 camp is now accepting applications. Some of the crafts have changed to be more age-appropriate so each child has a complete learning experience. The crafts offered this time will be Beginner Sewing, Advanced Sewing, Wood Burning, String Art, Beginner Guitar, Making Decorated Picture Frame, Making a Rag Rug, Survival Powercord Bracelets, Making Paper Flowers, and Assorted Crafts for Young Kids. The cost is $35, and runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The last day to sign up is Tuesday, July 9. For more information call Fiddlers Grove at 615-547-6111.
