J. W. McGuire, Advisor for the Master Gardener Program in Wilson County has trained over 1,000 volunteergardeners since the program began in 1994. The fourteen week classes cover all aspects of soil balance and plant care for flower and vegetable gardens and proper landscape techniques.
The volunteer gardeners plant and maintain the flower beds and shrubs at the James E. Ward Center.
The Volunteer Garden was started approximately six years ago. It has become a very popular stop for the visitors to Fiddlers Grove.
The adjacent building is the volunteer gardeners’ potting shed and storage room.
